Pick up from your location in Auckland to travel through the Waitakere ranges to Piha stopping at lookouts along the way.
Snacks and warm up stretches on arrival at South Piha.
Climb the track to the great Tasman lookout to watch the seas surging over the rocks. Find the hidden track to Kaiwhare point and into the deep sea tunnel to Taniwha beach (Barefoot optional). See beyond the beaten track from the cliff tops. Walk the wide black sand beach surrounded by cliffs and caves back to our transport. Total walking time: 1 hour
10 minute transport to the North end of the beach where we discover more large caves and climb the 15 minute track to Te Waha point lookout for views north of the wild coastline all the way to Muriwai. Descend the bush covered track back to beach level.
5 minute transport to the famous Lion Rock for a 45 minute lunch break. Healthy snacks provided but please bring your lunch or a nearby cafe has some great options. Option to climb Lion rock over break time (15 mins return).
5 minute transport through the centre of unique Piha township to the Kitekite falls loop track. Walk the 1.5 hour round trip through the shaded rainforest to discover native bird life and plants. Embrace the mist from the 40m waterfall and witness its purpose. Mountain range views on our way back to our transport for group stretching and snacks.
Approx. 1 hour return transport to your address which can include a stop at our highest altitude cafe depending on availability.
Proper walking required, bring good shoes.
